컨버세이션스는 아트부산이 매해 선보이는 예술 담론 프로그램으로, 동시대 미술의 흐름과 주요 이슈를 다각도로 조망하는 대화의 장입니다. 2025년에는 라인문화재단, 부산시립미술관, 오아르미술관, 도쿄 겐다이, 개러지 현대미술관, 홍콩 서퍼클럽 등 국내외 주요 기관과의 협업 아래, 큐레이터, 작가, 컬렉터 등이 참여해 정체성, 장소성, 협업의 지형 등 동시대 미술의 핵심 쟁점과 함께, 변화하는 글로벌 미술 지형 속 아시아 아트신의 역할과 시장, 제도 간 협업의 가능성을 조명합니다.

CONVERSATIONS is Art Busan’s annual discourse program that explores the currents and key issues of contemporary art from multiple perspectives. The 2025 edition features eight sessions developed in collaboration with major institutions including the Line Cultural Foundation, Busan Museum of Art, OAR Museum, Tokyo Gendai, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, and Supper Club Hong Kong. Curators, artists, and collectors will discuss themes such as identity, site-specificity, and models of collaboration, while also examining the role, influence, and institutional potential of the Asian art scene in a shifting global landscape.

강강훈, 조종성

작가 강강훈과 조종성은 서로 다른 회화적 언어로 삶의 내면과 풍경을 마주한다. 강강훈은 섬세한 인물 묘사로 인간의 감정과 존재를 탐구하고, 조종성은 상징적 배경인 밤을 통해 기억과 상상의 공간을 펼친다. 두 작가는 부산 출신은 아니지만, 이 도시에서 자신만의 세계를 구축해왔다. 이번 세션은 리빙센스 심효진 편집장의 진행 아래, 회화가 감정과 공간을 어떻게 담아내는지, 그리고 예술이 삶의 깊은 풍경을 어떻게 드러내는지를 함께 이야기한다.

Kang Kang Hoon and Jo Jong Sung explore inner life and landscape through distinct painterly approaches. Kang captures human emotion and presence through delicate portraiture, while Jo evokes memory and imagination within symbolic nightscapes. Though not originally from Busan, both artists have cultivated their unique artistic worlds in the city. Moderated by Hyojin Sim (Editor-in-Chief, Living sense), this session reflects on how painting gives form to emotion and reveals the deeper landscapes of life.

정현 Chung Hyun

조각가 정현은 침목, 고철, 잡석 등 한때 쓰임을 다한 재료를 통해 인간의 존재를 조형해왔다. 강한 개입 없이 재료와의 조응을 통해 물질의 본질을 끌어내는 그의 작업은, 시간의 흔적과 인간의 정신성을 고요하게 드러낸다.이번 세션은 부산의 역사적 공간 도모헌 야외정원에서 진행 중인 장소특정적 조각 설치를 계기로 마련된 자리로, 서울시립 남서울미술관에서 정현 작가의 개인전 《덩어리》 를 기획한 이보배 학예사가 모더레이터로 참여해, 조각과 재료, 장소, 시간에 대한 예술적 사유를 작가와 함께 나눈다.

Chung Hyun evokes human existence through discarded materials—railroad ties, scrap metal, and stones. Rather than imposing form, he draws out their essence, unveiling traces of time and spirit.This session, set in the outdoor garden of Domoheon, highlights his ongoing site-specific installation. Curator Bo Bae Lee, who organized Jung’s solo exhibition Mass at the Nam Seoul Museum of Art, joins him to discuss the interplay of sculpture, material, place, and time.
